How is it already 2019?
Boy, Gretchen Rubin was right when she said "The Days are Long, but the Years are Short" ..
Christmas flew by way too quickly and I'm protesting taking my Christmas tree and decor down. Jessica and Jenny are both miles ahead of me on that one...
So here we are in 2019 - WELCOME. It may just be my brand-new planner excitement talking, but I have a feeling 2019 is going to be seriously amazing.
New Year's is just another day of the year, right? YES - it's just another day. BUT - it's one that deserves the hype. January 1st gives us an excuse to do life even better. To do more, be more and give more.
But first, before we focus on the entire year that's before us, let's take a step back.
Reflect on your Previous Year
We get so thrilled about walking into the year ahead of us that often we forget about all the joys, struggles and accomplishments that strengthened us and brought us joy in the year we're leaving.
Take a few moments of time to focus on your your successes from the previous quarter, jot down some of your powerhouse gratefuls and log your top 2018 memories (and not just the sunshine and butterflies - the ones that helped SHAPE you count big-time!)
Set Thoughtful Goals for Q1
Tis the season for Goal Setting and Goal Getting, am I right? Everyone is setting New Year's Resolutions right about now - and since we are totally goal-obsessed around here - we don't blame them. We prefer the concept of setting Quarterly Goals that can be broken down even further. Goals are easiest to achieve when properly planned and positive habits are cultivated - so take some time to consider what you may need to do to make sure the goals you set will be the goals you get.

Find a Guiding Word
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, that's a lot of words. This concept recommends that a year's intentions can be built on a single guiding word. Choose something that feeds your spirit. Something that makes you feel energized and positive. Once you find it, you'll know what I mean.
My guiding word this year is Peace. Sure, it makes me sound like a hippie, but it suits my soul so I'm ok with that.
Create a Vision Board
I was the girl in middle and high school that cut up magazines and photographs to post up on my walls - so needless to say - I'm a sucker for a good collage. As I've gotten older, I've realized the incredible impact positive visualization has on our mindset and achievements... so this year I was determined to create my own vision board for 2019. I filled my board with pictures of planned travel, my guiding word, important goals and of course my little family. I'm loving it and find myself constantly flipping to it for BIG smiles.
