Here at Team KIT we are big Readers and big Goal Setters. We feel that both endeavors keep our minds growing and our focus on the creative pursuit of our best life! And we also know the importance of sharing your goals with someone important in your life - specifically, someone from your circle of influence who you know will support you and encourage you to keep striving even when things get tough! Having accountability trackers (more on this in a bit) and partners is critical for success in all of your personal and professional goals.
Liz, Jenny and I make it a point to share our goals with one another. And as of late, we've all renewed our committment to carve out more time for reading! Reading is a great way to expand your mind, enhance your creativity, improve your knowledge in a million different areas and simply a relaxing way to end the day and prepare your mind for sleep. To pursue this goal we've decided to read (and discuss) at least one non-fiction book per month! Recently, we chose "Kiss That Frog" by Brian Tracy.
How we stumbled across this book:
TWO of our FAVORITE mentors, Chalene Johnson and Marie Forleo have mentioned Brian Tracey's books and teachings on several occasions. If both of these powerhouse gals can learn from Brian - we surely can!
This book is very concisely written. Rather than speed through it, we decided to really soak each lesson in. We busted out our highlighters, doggy eared some of favorite chapters and really spent the full month basking in the positivity. Below is one of the many nuggets of wisdom that resonated with Team KIT.
What's the Takeaway?
Brian Tracey depicts some very relate-able situations in this book. Each situation pushes you to reflect on your past and present "FROGS" (obstacles) and what you can/should do about them. Overall, Tracey empowers us that we all have the power to control how we feel about our circumstances. So stop, carefully evaluate those troublesome events in your life and choose how you will/won't allow them to affect you.
