Finding Your Hapiness
Happy is Healthy
March 20th is International Happiness Day... now that's a holiday us #kitgirls can get down with! For this month's KIT and Kaboodle, we want you to join us for our Happiness Habits Challenge.
EAT YOUR PRODUCE
March is a great month for broccoli, cauliflower and artichokes. These veggies are all considered to be lower in carbs, so good news if your eating plan includes carb counting. If fruits are your thing - you should be able to enjoy pineapples and mangoes throughout March.
Sometimes it can be hard to distinguish between a common cold, allergies, or worse - both. Generally speaking, allergies last longer than a cold, don't involve mucus or fevers, and do come with itching of the eyes, nose, throat and sneezing. Pass the tissues - Achoooo!
CELEBRATE WHAT’S GOOD
Daylight Savings begins on the 12th, and the 17th signifies the start of Spring ( even though temps where you live might not concur). March also pays tribute to St. Patrick's Day on the 17th, National Sleep Week from the 6th to the 13th and National Nutrition Month.
CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY
If you're in need of a boost this month, here's a short list of inspirational authors and speakers: Brian Tracy, Brene Brown, Glennon Melton Doyle, Miguel Ruiz, Perna Chodron, Dave Romanelli, Dan Millman, Sheryl Sandberg, Stephen Covey, Louise Hay, Sally Hogshead, Anthony Robbins, Gretchen Rubin and Chalene Johnson.
A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA...
Pineapples are available all year, but their ripeness peaks from now through July. Columbus brought this excellent fruit back to England where it was coveted for its sweetness. Initial difficulties in growing increased its exclusivity and soon it was considered a luxury item only the richest could afford. Social events where pineapple was served indicated wealth, luxury and generosity. Today, some of these traits carry on and the pinecone look-a-like is widely associated with friendship, hospitality and a welcoming attitude.
- For 10 days we'll be dropping in with our #kitgirls group with tips and tricks to find a little more happy in every day.... join us wont you?
